Inaugural University of the Third Age Competition

Aquarius Golf Club recently hosted the first U3A Dulwich Golf Cup.

U3A is the University of the Third Age, an international movement whose aims are the education and stimulation of mainly retired members of the community - ie those in their third “age” of life.

Dulwich has a thriving U3A branch, and one of its many interest groups is devoted to golf.  Every Wednesday morning a group of members and visitors play 9 holes and for the first time the U3A has funded a trophy to be contested.

U3A plans to host the competition twice a year, with the next being planned for July. The competition was a Texas Scramble, with three teams of 3 or 4 members each. This iteration’s winners were Troy Pascoe, David Wilkinson, John Edmead and Gerald Rickard, pictured above.
